Our Vegetable Specialities are composed of cashew nuts, filtered water, salt, cultures, maturing ferments and various condiments depending on the references we market.

All these ingredients are naturally gluten-free and lactose-free.

Analyses certify that there is no trace of lactose in our vegan alternatives.

However, as our products are not certified gluten-free, they may not be suitable for people with coeliac disease.

The cashew nuts we use to make our Vegetable Specialities are 100% Vietnamese.

The cashew tree is grown in tropical regions, in sunny conditions and in light, sandy soil.

Our European climate is therefore unfortunately not suitable for this crop.

Why Vietnam?

It is one of the few countries in the world to have patented a mechanical hulling process.

No physical intervention by the workers is required when shelling cashew nuts.
The risk of burns from contact with the acidic substance is therefore completely eliminated.

The cashew nuts are then separated from their shells by means of sieves, then from their skins, and finally graded and sorted, again mechanically.

A final manual sorting is carried out on the finished product as you consume it, so it is completely safe and harmless for people in contact with the cashew.

The mechanical dehulling process is one of the strengths of this Vietnamese-based industry, which is highly regarded for its cutting-edge know-how.

As a guarantee of quality, we have chosen to work with a cashew nut that is valued by 3 labels and certifications: BIO, FAIR FOR LIFE, and FOREST GARDEN PRODUCTS.

Organic means that the products are grown and produced in a natural way, without the use of chemicals. Organic farming, as opposed to industrial farming, is concerned with the environmental impact of its activity and with biodiversity.

FAIR FOR LIFE contributes to improving the living conditions and social benefits of all producers. It promotes sustainable development and supports organisations committed to a partnership approach. It guarantees fair and environmentally friendly working conditions.

FOREST GARDEN PRODUCTS guarantees fair pricing for producers and ensures the preservation of ecosystems by creating micro-habitats rich in biodiversity. FGP also promotes crop diversification and prohibits the use of synthetic chemicals.

In addition, we have a certificate of honour certifying that no animals are exploited in the cashew nut plantations that we use to produce our Speciality Plants.

Being concerned about the environment and workers, it is important for our company to certify our products with labels and certifications that have the same values as ours.

Yes, all the Plant-Based Specialities we produce are organically grown.

All the raw materials we use in the manufacture of our products are organically grown.

The only material used in the design of most of our food products that is not subject to the tests required by the Organic Agriculture certification bodies is water.

To take our approach to the next level, we installed a water filtration system using double reverse osmosis, revitalization and dynamization to obtain 100% pure water.

Once filtered, the purified water is then ready to be used in the composition of our Vegetable Specialities, without altering the quality, taste and natural flavours.

One of Petit Veganne's main objectives is to replace dairy cheeses by offering plant-based creations, but not only! We have many ethical, environmental and human health convictions...

To make our vegan products, we don't want to use any pesticides, fungicides or other chemical fertilizers that aim to destroy all forms of animal and plant life!

We do not support their use, as it leads to the destruction of flora and fauna.

Biodiversity is then unbalanced, our land infertilized, groundwater polluted...

All these chemical fertilizers also have very harmful effects on our health!

  • Increased risk of cancer
  • Congenital malformations
  • Infertility problems
  • Neurological problems
  • Weakened immune system

As part of our commitment to consumers, animals and the environment, we have had all our Plant-Based certified by Bureau Veritas to obtain the Organic Agriculture label.

We are proud to pass on and respect our values through our company and all our vegan handmade creations.

We produce a range of quality fermented and matured Vegetable Specialities that are similar to dairy cheeses. Both visually and in taste.

However, following the decree of law n°2007-628 of 27 April 2007 relating to cheeses and cheese specialities, we cannot use the term vegan cheese. Indeed, milk and its by-products such as cheese, butter, cream and yoghurt are necessarily of animal origin.

Therefore, we will never use the terms: "vegan cheese", "vegetable cheese", "vegetable cheeses", "dairy-free cheese", "lactose-free cheese", etc.

In order to comply with the law, we have decided to rename our products " Plant Specialities ".

There are several factors to consider when pricing our Plant Specialities.

1) The high cost of our main raw material.

The cashew nut we use to make our products is of high quality.
The cost of cashew nuts is considerably higher than the cost of milk used in the production of industrial dairy cheese.

It also has 3 certifications: "BIO", "FAIR FOR LIFE", and "FOREST GARDEN".

For more information on our cashew nuts, please see the section "Where do your cashew nuts come from?" or visit our "Our products and raw materials" section.

2) The 100% artisanal production of our Vegetable Specialities.

Our products are made with the greatest care in our company. A unique know-how is necessary in order to master all the production stages. Special care is taken by our team every day of the week with our Vegetable Specialities.

3) The operating costs of our young company.

A company is not only about production and sales. It also has many operating costs. These include: staff salaries, social security contributions, purchases of supplies, bills (rent, water, electricity, insurance, subscriptions, etc.), various taxes, bank loans, etc.

All of these costs add up to a lot of money and the company has to deal with them.

Despite this, we are working to bring you generous Vegan Specialities, with one of the cheapest prices per kilo on the market. We also plan to reduce our selling prices, as well as offer new quality vegan creations at more affordable prices.

However, we do not lose sight of our guiding principle, which is to ensure that our customers are fully satisfied.

We are currently working on new vegan creations, which will expand our range.

Numerous tests are regularly carried out in order to offer you new and better products.

We regularly communicate information via our newsletter, our social networks and the news section of our website.

Yes, all the manufacturing stages of our Speciality Plants are carried out in our production facility in Sarralbe (57430) in France.

Our Vegetable Specialities can be stored in the refrigerator at between + 2° and + 4°C.

In general, and as far as possible, do not break the cold chain.

The storage instructions are mentioned on the packaging of our products.

You can also find storage tips for our Plant Specialities in the individual description of each product in our online shop.

The shelf life of our Vegetable Specialities is indicated on the back of their packaging. It varies between 10 and 30 days depending on the different batches leaving our production workshop.

The best-before date (BBD) should be distinguished from the use-by date (UBD).

The main difference between these two dates is that, even if it is exceeded, the BBD does not present any danger to health when the products are consumed.
The UBD, on the other hand, could cause food poisoning if it is exceeded beyond what is stated on the label.

Yes, our Vegetable Specialities can be frozen. However, we cannot guarantee that the taste and nutritional quality will be maintained after defrosting.

We remind you that you should never refreeze a defrosted product! This can be dangerous for your health as it encourages the proliferation of bacteria. These bacteria can be pathogenic and can cause food poisoning of varying degrees of severity depending on the type of bacteria.

We guarantee that we have never frozen our Vegetable Specialities before sale.

We do not recommend the use of our products without the prior advice of your physician or health care professional.

Our Vegetable Specialities are living products thanks to the cultures and maturing ferments used in their manufacture. It is these micro-organisms that give our creations their taste and texture.

No animal products or by-products are used in the preparation of our dishes. This means that the pathogens are not comparable to those that can be found in dairy cheeses.

Bacteriological analyses are regularly carried out on our products.

More specifically, on the following germs:

LISTERIA MONOCYTOGENES - ESCHERICHIA COLI - COAGULASE STAPHYLOCOCCI - SALMONELLA

Some of our customers have created recipes in which they cook and/or melt our Vegetable Specialities.

You can find some of them in our vegan recipes section of our website.

At present, all our Vegetable Specialities are made with cashew nuts. Our products are therefore not suitable for people with intolerances or allergies.

We recruit according to the evolving needs of the company.

However, outside of recruitment campaigns, you can submit an unsolicited application at any time.

If you wish to join a motivated and dynamic team, please send your application with a curriculum vitae and a cover letter to the following email address: contact@petit-veganne.com
