BBD Petit Veganne

Our Organic Plant-Based Specialities have a Best Before Date (BBD)

But in concrete terms, what is the difference between a UBD and a BBD?

The best-before date applies to microbiologically highly perishable foodstuffs and indicates an imperative limit to be respected. Beyond this deadline, the product can no longer be consumed as it would present an immediate danger to the health of the consumer. The products must therefore be withdrawn from sale and consumption as soon as this date is reached.

NB: The best-before date is usually affixed to products such as cold meats, fresh meats or chilled ready meals.

A distinction must be made between the UBD and the BBD. The main difference is that, even if the date has passed, the food can, in principle, be consumed without posing a risk of food poisoning to the consumer. It is therefore not necessary to throw away the products concerned when the SLED has expired.

NB: Beyond the date indicated on the packaging, the organoleptic and nutritional qualities (taste, vitamins, etc.) of products with a BBD are no longer guaranteed.

To sum up, Petit Veganne's Plant-Based Specialities can still be consumed a few days after their BBD if they have been stored according to the instructions on the packaging and if there are no anomalies that would suggest that they should no longer be consumed.

You can also find the expiry date of each of our Vegetable Specialities on their product page.

Enjoy your meal with Petit Veganne!
